We Ruined Ourselves is my first novel. There are already 25 chapters of the manuscript, so the public project begins partway through the writing rather than on day one.

You can read those chapters here, each in its first edition: v1. Chapter One is the way into the story; the chapter index keeps them in reading order.

The novel follows the Ashworth family in Alderbourne, a city built by corporations. Work, money and the things people don't tell each other are never far apart.

The notebook is a different way in: a place for excerpts, characters, world details and the work of revising. The first notes stay close to the opening chapters. They're not a substitute for reading the story.

As new chapters become ready, each will begin at v1. Revised chapters will advance independently, keeping their addresses. The version guide explains what readers can expect. There's no fixed release timetable.
